GUIDE · NAMBA FOR FAMILIES OF 5–6
A whole home within walking distance of Namba for a family of 5 or 6: how to choose
"A home we can walk to Namba from, with room for the whole family" is one of the most common requests we get in Osaka. But Namba is Osaka's busiest nightlife district, and there aren't many large houses right next to it. Which area suits you depends on what you put first: walking distance, space, or a quiet night. We run homes in Osaka; here is how we'd decide, based on the homes we actually have.
The short answer
- We have 18 whole homes and apartments within 1.5 km (straight line) of Nankai Namba Station. 11 sleep 5 or more and 11 sleep 6 or more (the largest sleeps 15).
- The main reason to stay within walking distance of Namba: after dinner in Dotonbori or Kuromon Market you can walk home without a train, and head back as soon as the kids are tired.
- If space or a quiet night matters more, look at residential areas a few stops away with a direct train to Namba (Tengachaya, Kishinosato-Tamade, Tsuruhashi and similar). You'll find more large houses there.
- "Namba" covers several stations: Nankai Namba, Osaka Metro Namba, Osaka-Namba (Kintetsu and Hanshin) and JR Namba. Distances here are straight-line distances from Nankai Namba Station; the walking route is always longer.
- If you want to be right on Dotonbori with an elevator and a 24-hour front desk, a hotel in central Namba is the better fit. Of our 18 homes in this area, 6 have an elevator.

| Walkable to Namba (within 1.5 km) | Residential area a few stops away | |
|---|---|---|

| At night | The closer to the nightlife, the later the foot traffic | Mostly quiet residential streets |
| Size of home | 11 of 18 sleep 5+, up to 15 | More choice of whole houses |
| To Kansai Airport | Direct from Nankai Namba (Rapi:t limited express, airport express) | Direct from some stations on the Nankai and JR Hanwa lines |
| With a stroller | Often through crowded streets | Residential streets from the station |
| Best for | Families who want evenings out, shorter stays | Longer stays, 7+ people, early bedtimes |
Either way, price is per home (varies by group size and dates) plus a cleaning fee.
"Namba" is four stations. Which one is closest?
The Nankai, Osaka Metro and Kintetsu/Hanshin stations are linked underground, but JR Namba sits a little further west.
Nipponbashi Station (Osaka Metro Sakaisuji and Sennichimae lines, Kintetsu) is just east of Namba. Homes on the Kuromon Market / Den Den Town side are often closer to Nipponbashi than to any Namba station.
Most common nearest stations for our homes in this area: Ebisucho (6), Nippombashi (5), Imamiya (3), Daikokucho (2).
