Abeno Harukas Art Museum
あべのハルカス美術館
Abeno Harukas Art Museum is on the 16th floor of Abeno Harukas, a 300-metre tower above Tennoji Station. It has no permanent collection. Instead it runs a steady line of touring exhibitions, from Western painting to Japanese Buddhist art and ceramics.
It's an easy art stop for a rainy day or a Tennoji outing. The galleries are compact and well lit, and you can pair a visit with the observation deck higher up in the same building.
What to see and do
Three to five major shows a year, each with its own theme and price.
During exhibitions it stays open until 20:00 from Tuesday to Friday.
The observation deck on the top floors of the same tower, ticketed separately.
What’s on
Good to know
- The museum closes between shows, so check the dates before you go.
- Weekday evenings are the quietest time to visit.
