October is one of Kansai's most comfortable months: dry air, clear blue skies and warm afternoons that are perfect for long walks. Harvest foods arrive, festivals fill the weekends, and by late month the first leaves are turning in the mountains.
It's great for hikers, food lovers, and first-timers who want good weather before November's autumn-leaf crowds. The trade-offs are few: an early-month typhoon is possible, and prices start climbing towards the end of the month.
