Kobe Anpanman Children’s Museum

☂ Good on rainy days

Kobe Anpanman Children's Museum & Mall sits on the Harborland waterfront, a short walk from the Ferris wheel. The ticketed museum upstairs is built for toddlers and preschoolers, with play zones themed on Anpanman and his friends, stage shows, character greetings, craft workshops and photo spots, plus a second play area called Baikinman's Secret Base.

The ground-floor shopping mall is free to enter and has character shops and places to eat, including a Jam Ojisan's Bread Factory bakery. Everything is under one roof, so it works well on a wet or very hot day.

What to see and do

1Stage shows and character greetings

Live shows and meet-and-greets run through the day. Some shows and greetings need a free digital numbered ticket, which you collect after you arrive.

2Two play areas on one ticket

Your museum ticket covers both the Museum and Baikinman's Secret Base. You can go back in to either as often as you like on the day, though you may have to wait.

3Free-entry mall

The ground-floor mall is free, with Anpanman shops and food. You can eat your own food on this floor.

4Crafts and photo spots

Craft workshops and photo booths are spread through the museum. Small children love these.

Strollers and babies

Strollers can't go inside the museum or Baikinman's Secret Base. Stroller parking is near the 2F ticket counter and by the 1F ramps, and no strollers are rented out. Nursing rooms with milk-preparation facilities are on 2F (museum) and 1F (mall), and there are diaper-changing beds on both floors

Good to know

  • Bring a baby carrier: strollers have to be left at the entrance.
  • Tickets go on sale 28 days ahead, and weekend and holiday slots can sell out. Book as soon as your dates are fixed.
